Roosting in Monrovia
Tonight at dusk as I was walking my dog, I heard the tell-tale cry of a Peacock. Typically I don’t hear these cries unless I’m close to Arcadia, as I was a few days ago, but this was right above my head here in north Monrovia. I have lived her for more than 5 years now and have never seen one in my neighborhood. Two nights ago as I was walking near Arcadia I was trying to follow the call of one nearby. I didn’t find it and was wishing that I would see them closer to my neighbhood. Oddly enough, my wish came true!
I didn’t have my camera with me, alas, but the image looked very much like the one above, by eilonwydreams.

Funny we had two females on my neighbors garage roof a few weeks ago. I posted it on metblogs. Then I found out my friend Kate up off Greystone has seen a few in her area too.
Guess after all those years in Arcadia they are branching out.
Yes, we had one in our yard a while back. I don’t want them here! But we just had a bear the other day too, I guess that’s what we deal with here. Wildlife.
I’ve also seen falcons roosting around palm trees. I counted 14 coming in to roost the other night when out for a walk. Couldn’t believe my eyes!
