Monrovia Library bookstore open for business!

Monrovia Library bookstore, originally uploaded by Living in Monrovia.

They are just getting started but if you like used paperbacks this is the place to go! The library store will also take donations of your used books. They also need volunteers. And for those of you who like a portion of their purchases to go to charity, all of the Friends of the Library money raised from their book sales and memberships will go directly to the library in the form of programs, materials, and services.

The bookstore is operated by the Friends of the Library, a volunteer group whose sole purpose is supporting the Library’s programs and services. Since everything’s volunteer, 100% if the shop’s proceeds are “returned” to the Library – in 2009 this will total about $10,000! Check the Friends website for announcements of special events and sales. http://www.friendsofmonroviapubliclibrary,org Store hours are somewhat irregular as volunteers are trained and scheduled. Stop by and shop. Donate your used books. Join the Friends. Volunteer to help out in some capacity at the Store.

Thanks for the website, but couldn’t link. Did you mean: http://www.friendsofmonroviapublibrary.org? I think I might want to volunteer at the bookstore.
