Wild Rose Tract
The picturesque “Wild Rose” district will be on the Monrovia Historic Home Preservation Group Mother’s Day Home Tour this year. Should be an inspiring tour.

It was quite enjoyable finally being able to walk around inside the new library. It feels wonderfully airy inside with the high ceilings and natural light. Can’t wait to see it filled with books!

One of the middle bungalows is for rent…spotted it today. Aren’t they cute? They are across from the Blockbuster on Foothill.

Well, geeez, I’ve certainly posted pictures of our old train station on this blog before, but this HDR pic by “ls2_zed” takes the cake. I just had to post! Do view LARGER. I mean, criminey, does it get any better than this? I might as well bury my Canon six feet under and call it a day.

Walked around Claremont village yesterday and saw the light hitting the letters on the Lanz Building just right. It’s my favorite “out-of-town” spot to visit. Not as crowded as Pasadena, and lots of big trees arching over the streets. I wish Monrovia had more big trees.

I like the Deco feeling of Monroe School, shot here by Googiesque. It looks good in black & white.

During the day the Monrovia Post Office building looks rather ordinary; at night, however, it really takes on a different personality!
No commentsFor Lease

This building just got fixed up for Farmer’s Insurance, but it appears they also have office space for lease. I do love the color palette.
Bethel A.M.E. Church

I’ve never seen a soul enter or leave this place. It sits on the edge of Old Town, quietly beseeching someone to come in.
