I like the Deco feeling of Monroe School, shot here by Googiesque. It looks good in black & white.

Habitat for Humanity Groundbreaking, originally uploaded by Living in Monrovia.

I’m happy to say that this project is progressing and 4 families have been chosen for the property. What a cool thing to be a kid in one of those families seeing their house constructed from scratch!

Sushi at night

Good at night, originally uploaded by Eureka!626.

I’ve always loved lights at night…and paper lanterns can be so pretty. I love walking around town at night…just wish there were a few more people out in the evenings.

Great shot by Eureka!626.

Ready for her close-up, originally uploaded by Living in Monrovia.

Found this critter in my garden’s rosebush today. She’s a work of art. I thought she was a dead leaf and branch at first. Her wings look just like shriveled dry leaves, and her body like a small branch. Wonderous!

Ok…so I’m fantasizing that I’m in turn-of-the-century London…never thought I could get a mysterious night shot with an iPhone…but there you are.

Monrovia Travel

Monrovia Travel, originally uploaded by Living in Monrovia.

I’ve always wanted to be able to afford to use a travel agency—just waltz in, you know, in some sort of perfect dress, gloves and a hat with a bow on it—and announce breathlessly that I need every thing seen to, just so…I probably watch too many old movies. Maybe in another 40 years I’ll manage it. Go on a cruise when I’m too tired to ride in a bus or taxi or use my feet!

Hi-tech Yogurt, originally uploaded by Living in Monrovia.

You are entering another dimension, another space and time…and there will be… yogurt! Ok… so where is Michael York…for some reason this makes me think of that old sci-fi flick called “Logan’s Run.” As a film, it didn’t age well, unfortunately, but I will have fond memories of seeing it as a teenager. As anyone tried the Wii post-yogurt?
